Come hang out with us in April...goodbye winter!
by MCV
Apr 2, 2009

Thanks to all our friends for an amazing month...we remembered our cameras and have posted pics of everyone on our myspace page. After this long, hard winter, it has been good to get together, play some music and drink whiskey with our friends. We are locking down dates right now to work with The Key Club. They produced songs for Franz Ferdinand, The Kills, Fiery Furnaces and so many more killer bands. We are insanely excited about getting into the studio with them and experiencing everything that comes with working with producers that are on that level. We will be in Kalamazoo @ The Corner Bar celebrating Drummer Matt's Birthday on 4/10/9 (he hates his birthday, so the more obnoxious, the better) and our good friend Moonie's B-day is that night too...get there early because there are some WMU students comng in vans and its gonna be packed...

We are heading back out to Indy & Nashville mid-month & at the Nashville shows we are going to raise money for The Providence Park Relief Fund. So come give us your money and we will hand it over to Habitat before we roll out of town. The shows are on our live page including a sweet day @ Grimey's for National Record Store Day (http://www.recordstoreday.com/Artist/847415) Mute Math, The Avett Brothers and Stardeath & White Dwarfs will be playing also so we can't wait to see them live and just be a part of it.

For now, we are playing out as much as possible and getting out to see our friends all around the Midwest, south & east coast. We continue to feel ridiculously happy that we get to hit the stage and play as much as we do. Every show turns into more and more insane fun, especially when those hot girls get on stage and dance with us! We are going to be in a movie called 'Rock On Michigan'...we know that Bob Seager and Jeff Daniels are in it, but that's all we know so far. When we get the details on the live filmed performance we'll send out an email so that we can get everyone together for the taping (hopefully they'll have and open bar;) Click the widget below if you want to donate to Habitat & we hope to see everyone out!

P.S.-This site is powered by my old friend Audra from Audra & The Antidote in Nashville, if your band needs a site, she made it amazingly easy...just click the KarmaCMS link at the very bottom.

We are finally ready to release our new EP 'Forgetting the Little People', We will officially release it this Sunday 3/8/9 at The Orphanage in Chicago. The Orphanage is a non-profit artist performance space that focuses on all art forms...and they put out a killer buffet during shows. The cost is a $10 donation and includes food, drinks and entertainment. All the proceeds go to The Orphanage. The EP was produced and recorded by Vince Cassamatta at South Side Recording Company in Chicago and he is killer!

We have booked a lot of shows for this next couple of months and can't wait to get back to see our friends...we are working on a concept album right now tentatively called 'Noone names their kid Judas anymore' and will be working the new songs into our sets this year before we record in the fall. Our new EP is available for digital download on the music page of this site. We do still have 'Slice of Hell' up and are still donating all that we get from that to Habitat for Humanity so if your in a giving mood please purchase it and help our community, or just scroll down till you see a donate button and chip in a few bucks.

I don't know about you guys, but we are ready to rip it up...this has been a long winter and its time for some fun. Please go check the dates and come have fun with us! BTW if your in Nashville we will be doing a fundraiser for the Habitat affiliate there at our show @ The End on 4/17/9 to raise money for the Providence Park Relief Fund.

See ya'll soon & hit up our guestbook before you leave and say hi...
Back on the road soon...

We want to thank the Double Door (and you Raz) for a fun night last Friday! Looks like a negative 27 wind chill can't keep Chicago down...We are working on releasing our new EP and getting booked up for spring and summer. We finally posted pics of the Third Coast Music Festival on our Myspace page & please go tag away if you were there...Our next show is at Mickey's on Valentines Day with our friends Morgan Ingle & Inacoda Blue & at The Orphanage in Chicago on 3/8. BTW, We will be at Mickey's every third Saturday with different friends & bands we have met along the way so come join us if your in town...

Hope you can come join us for the slots we are playing on the Tour for Toys...entry is one unwrapped toy or $5 and all proceeds go to Toys for Tots...there are a lot of bands involved and we are hoping to help put new toys under the trees of kids who wouldn't normally get them, check the dates on our live page & come hang with us...

BTW, we are officially off hiatus...its been good and needed, but two months off is just too much. We moved into a warm rehearsal space for the winter, are writing our guts out and are working on recording with a couple of really talented producers in our area. All three of us have have endured some pretty rough months and somehow that lends itself to writing brutally honest songs. From a personal standpoint, its good to know that this group of strangers that formed a band three years ago, are now best friends on a very real level. When you get together with people to play in a band, you just don't know how long its going to last...we have been through so much and it seems like we are just beginning to really tap into to who we are as a group and what we may be capable of creating. We are looking forward to seeing what happens this next three years...

This is it! Get to the polls Tuesday...even though some may not believe it every vote is needed and each individual CAN make a difference. There is a lot of voter fraud out there right now and voter rights being violated...know your rights at the polls and go to www.voteforchange.com to find out the truths about all the myths & rumors that are being spread to keep people from voting...the time is now!
